Our Philosophy

Providing a supportive environment where children are at the heart of everything we do

Believing in a child is accepting of who they are, knowing a child requires genuine connection, and understanding a child opens our minds to respecting their uniqueness, diversity, challenges, strengths and personalities.

We are privileged to be trusted to be a part of children’s early years to provide a safe, nurturing and purposeful environment to enable them to thrive.

Wildflowers Early learning is inspired by the approaches of Loris Malaguzzi (Reggio Emilia) and Friedrich Froebel (Froebelian), both with guiding principles highlighting the great benefits of meaningful environments which are integral to learning.

We are committed to providing a quality service where the child is at the heart of everything we do. We believe children are competent, capable independent learners, who will flourish to be confident, resilient, and socially connected if in a supportive environment with highly qualified professionals who are attuned to the distinctive nature of children’s learning and development.

A connection with nature

Believing the environment is a third teacher and that education should be built on a child’s powerful urge to learn, we aim to offer environments that are conducive to a child’s overall growth and development, a safe place where children will be inspired to learn and develop a sense of belonging.

We strongly believe all children should have the everyday experiences of engaging in the natural world outdoors, offering rich visual stimuli and hands on sensorial learning experiences. Children will begin to understand and respect the interrelationship between all living things and how they themselves can contribute to preserving nature through embedding sustainable practices in their everyday activities.

We fully respect the role of the family and aim to develop strong positive relationships that will further support, resource and strengthen the trusted role we all have in raising children. We acknowledge the valuable resource that all community connections can offer, and how these can positively impact children’s social competence, cultural awareness, self-esteem and overall well-being and sense of belonging.

"Like a wildflower, you must allow yourself to thrive, in all the places people thought you never would”.
